Cottage Industry

Aprons are worn by many workers, including printers, bakers, nurses, and homemakers. And with each job, this protective sheath conforms to fit the work. The apron persists, but reflects styles and needs of the moment. Cottage Industry uses aprons to acknowledge the variety of labor done by women.

Exhibited in August, 2009 at pushdot studio, Portland, Oregon

Special thanks to the working hands:
Tracy Bender, Susan Bein, Carla Canfield, Tavé Fascé Drake, Diane Jacobs, Michelle Majeski, Carla Rajnus and Kristin Wessel
