Fold Here

A collaboration in documenting Maria T.D. Inocencio’s Fold Here performance installation piece throughout a month of transformation.

During the month of March, 2013, at Nine Gallery in Portland, Oregon, I took photographs of the installation in flux. I displayed a selection of my month-long documentation in the gallery alongside Maria's unfolding installation. I picked seven images from the previous week, adding a new row to a grid of photographs to show the progress and transformation of Maria's work over time. Maria took stacks of cleaned donated clothing and neatly sorted, ironed and folded them, creating color stacked wall of fabric. The clothes final destination after their part in artwork were to a women’s charity.

On March 16, a dance performance, entitled, "Fold, and Fold and Fold Again,” directed by Linda K Johnson took place, and also I took photographs of the performance in the gallery.
